Day trip

I have a day off tomorrow so I was thinking of going for a drive. I love to spend pastime in nature rather than in commercial district. I looked through a couple of web pages which give information about places worth visiting around here. Then something caught my eyes and it was Tsukuba mountain. It's not either very hot or very cold in day and weather forecast says it's going to be sunny tomorrow so it'll be a perfect day to climb a mountain. It takes about an hour drive to get there and sounds right distance to enjoy driving. I'll also try to make lyrics there. A friend of mine and I are trying to make a song together. He takes music and I takes lyrics. He has already sent me a part of music so I can listen to it there. I hope great nature will inspire my senses. I'm going to write about tomorrow later.

AI

I often think about what AI will bring to the future of the world. it is said that they are taking jobs away from humans. According to published research, almost half of jobs are at risk of being replaced by robot laborers. I assume that grunt, routine and manual work will be the first targets to be automated. Higher-level jobs will follow them. I'm wondering what kind of skills are required for humans to live in the world where robots can undertake almost every job. Perhaps no skills will be needed in the world and humans will be able to just fool around. Or robots may become aware of themselves and take over humanity like in SF movies. I have no idea what will happen.

Sunset is the best time in a day

I was done with my work in the morning. After getting back home, I took a shower and finished lunch then went for a drive. After driving for a while, I dropped by a park and sat on a bench with a half-read novel.  About an hour before sunset, I headed to an embankment where I love to go and see sunset. When I got there, the sun was already sinking in the western sky. As I was sitting in the embankment, the sun was going down and night was coming.  The best moment is when the whole sun gets out of sight but its orange still lingers on the bottom of the sky just above the horizon. It makes excellent spectral on the sky. I could sit and look at  it all day but unfortunately it doesn't last long. After a while, I took a walk around there, feeling the cold wind. I felt winter coming over.

Airtcle

"Shaming ourselves is a way of acknowledging that failure before someone else does. It’s the reason some people make self-deprecating jokes or call themselves ugly."

"The thought process goes: If I say all the mean things about myself that everyone else is thinking, then I have the power."

It's kind of awareness for me that we have similar way of thinking even we anker our thought with different language. I would hate those who shame themselves before someone else does and hurt them but now I can understand their feelings as I'm getting older. Encourging words such as "You don't have to compare yourself to others" "Being the way you are is enough", but it's easier said than done. Actually most people care how others see you. It seems inevitable to me.

(A)主文

①の条件節は過去形で (if I were you)

(If I had been you)

If I were you, I would not forgive him.

I would not forgive himだけでも”私なら”というニュアンスが含まれている

よく使う助動詞(would, could, should)

1) 俺が彼氏なら彼女の話を聞いてあげるのに・・・(beyonce “If I were a boy”)

(Avril Lavigne “ Girlfriend”)

1) If I were her boyfriend, I’d listen to her. (I’d= I would)

2) I could be your girlfriend.

日本語を英語に変換しようとit’s okay that ~, I don’t mind if~などと書き始めるとその先に詰まります。 I want to be your girlfriendとは言えない彼女の気持ちが分かるはずです。

3) If only I had more money, I could buy whatever you want.

If I had more moneyとしても問題ないですが、onlyを使うことで「金さえ、金さえあれば!」 If ONLY I had more time(時間さえ・・時間さえあれば!)

With, without

I wish

(I wish you were/had been here: あなたが(今)いてくれたらなあ/(あの時)いてくれたらなあ)

If you were here, I would be very happyなどと長々しく書かなくて済むのです。

1) I wish we had met under different circumstances

他にもI’m under pressure(緊張してる)、under construction(工事中)などが代表的な例です。

2) I couldn’t have passed the exam without your help.

 Without your help, I couldn’t

3) I shouldn’t have believed you.

Would you know my name, If I saw in heaven?(Eric Crapton “Tears in Heaven”)

What (would you do) ifの略になってます

What if you were the one who they bullied? Would you say the same thing?

What if I told you it was all meant to be? (Kelly Clarkson “A Moment like this”

So come over here and tell me what I wanna hear

Better, yeah, make your girlfriend dissapear

I don't wanna hear you say her name

His words took a while to sink in./ 彼の言わんとするところを理解するのにしばらくかかった)

Hey Hey!
